Orpha Grace Humes, age 97, died at 5:47 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center, Marion.
She was born on December 6, 1912, in Madison County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Dwight and Mabel (Doyle) Doherty. On April 22, 1939, she married Donald Humes who preceded her in death on March 29, 1995.
She worked at RCA and Midwest Paper until her retirement from RCA in 1970. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include, son, Ronald Humes (Sharon) of Goshen, Indiana; sister-in-law, Imie Doherty of Sun City, California; grandson, Brock Humes of New Jersey; granddaughter, Laura Humes of Goshen, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Faith Humes of Goshen, Indiana; and two nephews, Robert Oliver of Santa Barbara, California and Jerry Doherty of Red Lodge, Montana.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Doherty and Dwight Doherty, Jr.; and a sister, Marrietta Oliver.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Rodger Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
