Patricia L. (Moriarity) Smith

Patricia L. (Moriarity) Smith, age 70, of Warren, formerly of Marion, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne, Indiana after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Patty was born on November 26, 1937, in Grant County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Patrick and Gladys (Myers) Moriarity. She married James "Jim" Smith on September 23, 1989. He preceded her in death in August 1996.
She worked at Bell Fibre for 39 years, retiring in 1994. She was a former avid bowler, loved to play BINGO, read books and collect Elvis memorabilia. She was a great cook and loved to shop on QVC. It brought her great joy to give gifts of all kinds. Her kind and generous spirit will be remembered by all those who loved her so dearly.
Survivors include Brother, Keith "Moe" Moriarity (Wilma) of Monticello, Indiana; Sisters, Janet Yarger (Paul) of Marion, Indiana and Nancy Riddle (Stan) of Angola, Indiana; Daughter-In-Law, Nancy Smith of Huntington, Indiana; Niece, Debbie Anderson (Dave), Nephew, Greg Yarger, Nephew, Scott Brown (Georgie), Niece, "Tricia" Salem Powers, Nephew, Michael Moriarity (Debbie), Nephew, Marvin Moriarity (Vicky), Niece, Brenda Hensley (Greg); Nephew, Patrick Moriarity (Bonnie); Cousins, Lurabelle Hiatt and Fred "Fritz" Cover, Jr. (Jean); Step-Grandchildren, Cindy Pena (Juan); Jill Campbell (Dave); Anita Hughes (Greg); Step Great-Grandchildren, Dustin Campbell, Dana Kirby, Hannah, Gabriel, Joshua & Jacob Pena, Alex, Max & Jackson Hughes and three Great Great Grandchildren, Zachary & Haley Kirby & Jacob Pena, Jr.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Smith and niece, Linda Moriarity.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Thursday, November 20, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
