Phillip Yeakle

Phillip Yeakle, age 75, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Phillip was born on May 18, 1936, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late David Lee and Alice (Follis) Yeakle. He married Patricia Brock on September 12, 1954, and she survives.

He was veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and worked for the Marion Fire Department until his retirement in August 1985.

Phillip loved playing golf at Shady Hills Golf Course, spending time with his family and loved the word of God.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Yeakle of Marion, Indiana; two sons, Jeffery (Rita) Yeakle of Jonesboro, Indiana and Douglas (Lori) Yeakle of Tuscola, Texas; three daughters, Teresa (James) Molnar of Defiance, Ohio, Tammy Miller of Valrico, Florida and Sherri Yeakle of Marion, Indiana; two brothers, Eugene (Susan) Yeakle of Indianapolis, Indiana and David Yeakle of California; two sisters, Sandy (David) Yeager and Catherine Anne Henry both of Marion, Indiana; 13 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Monroe Yeakle, brothers, William Yeakle, Robert Yeakle, Richard Yeakle, sisters, Alice Yeakle and Betty Blakely.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Sunnycrest Baptist Church, 2172 W. Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana, with Pastor David Trimble, Pastor Bill Sherify and Pastor Gary Ashbrooke officiating.

Burial with military honors will be held in the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana following funeral services.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. The Marion Fire Department will be present during visitation hours in honor of Phillip's service to the department.
