Phyllis J. Daily, age 88, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Brookdale, formerly Sterling House in Marion.
Phyllis was born on December 23, 1926, in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lois (Harper) Clawson. She married Dr. Robert V. Daily, Sr. on April 10, 1948, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2002. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Indiana University, graduating in 1948.
Phyllis was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Marion, the Department Club, A.A.U.W., the American Contract Bridge League; and the National Association Life Underwriters. She was also on the Board of Directors of the Hostess House; a board member of the Girl Scouts of America; and a life-member of Alpha Xi Delta. She was also an avid Duplicate Bridge player. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife and was a very active volunteer in the community.
Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Carole S. Warr of McBee, S. Carolina and Jean A. (Dennis) Wright of Marion; two sons, Michael C. (Marie) Daily of Marion and John W. (Magdalene) Daily of Manassas, Virginia; 9 grandchildren, Kenny (Vesna) Daily, Karen (Billy) Ekofo, Ruth (Dave) Frank, Sadie Stauffer, Daniel (Amy) Daily, Esther(Preston) Terry, Kara (Robert) Strawn, Jennifer Rogers and Melaina (Delfred) Merritt; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Clawson
Graveside Services and Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Visiting will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday October 11, 2015 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1100 Jeffras Avenue, Marion, Indiana. Memorial Services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Jahn officiating.
