Phyllis L. (Long) Scott

Phyllis L. Scott, age 84, slipped peacefully away December 24, 2013 with loving family by her side.
Phyllis lived her life with unwavering strength and love for her family and friends. She loved cooking, parties with friends and family, roller skating, dancing, her animals and IU Basketball. Most of all, she looked forward to dancing with "Scotty" once again.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. "Scotty" Scott, parents J. Leslie "Jip" and Gladys (Harper) Long, brother, Robert Long, sister-in-law, JoAnn Vice Long, sister, Doris Greene, brother-in-law, Edward Patrick Greene, mother-in-law, Alberta Scott Williams, and sons-in-law, Thomas M. DePoy and David Joseph Hodge.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Aneysa (Egon) Hoeppner; son, Norman E. Scott; daughters, Mickey Scott Hodge (partner, Doug Lail) and Marta Scott DePoy (life partner, Daniel Kindschi); grandchildren, Tyler Hodge, Molly Hodge, Amy DePoy (Don) Newman, Beth (Steve) Alston, Holly (Kyle) Marshall, Amanda Newman, D.J. Newman, Nathan Alston, Nikki Alston, brother-in-law, Norman C. Scott; nephews, David Greene and Tom Greene; and best friend, Thelma Galey-Roe.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana for family and friends.
A Celebration of life for family and friends will follow services.
