Raymond VanBelkum, age 89, of Marion, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at Colonial Oaks Health Care, Marion, Indiana.
He was born on April 29, 1926 in Kent City, Michigan, the son of the late Nicholas and Ada VanBelkum. He married Letha Landry on June 5, 1948, and she survives.
Raymond was a member of Twin City Bible Baptist Church in Marion. He enjoyed bowling on a league and spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren's social events.
He is survived by his wife, Letha VanBelkum of Marion; a son, Dennis (Sally) VanBelkum of Gas City; daughter, Denise (Tim) Kinney of Dalesville; and 5 grandchildren, Kim (Tim) Black of Marion, Nick (Beth) VanBelkum of Gas City, Jeremiah (Cassie) Kinney of Muncie, Lisa (Peter) Renberg of Washington and Nate Kinney of Daleville; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Dale Schuiteman officiating.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the funeral home.
Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
