RICHARD J. "DICK" MARTIN, age 73, of Marion, died 1:33 a.m. August 28, 2008 at home.
Dick was born on November 6, 1934, in Owen County, Indiana, the son of the late John & Mary (Faulk) Martin. He married Edith "Boots" Waller on December 23, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1996.
Dick was a self-employed carpenter and had worked at Custer's Cashway Lumber. He retired in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & woodworking.
Survivors include Sons, Dan Martin (Penny) of Sweetser, Indiana and Richard Martin (Teryl) of Marion, Indiana; Brother, James Martin (Sally) of Marion, Indiana; Sisters, Ruth Lois Dunn of Marion, Indiana and Mary Francis Carter (J.C.) of Marion, Indiana; 7 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Duane Martin; three brothers, Robert, George & Henry Martin and a grandson, Taylor Martin.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Fett officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
