Robert L. Cook, age 72, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Robert was born October 13, 1941, in S. Daytona, Florida, the son of the late Chris and Dorothy (Willis) Cook. He married Sue Ellen Vandermark on August 29, 1981, and she survives.
Robert served in the Army for 20 years. He trained the first K9's for the Sheriff Department in Palm Beach County. He was a member of the Northeast Church of God, the Samaritan Lodge #105, and was a life member of D.A.V. He loved dogs.
Survivors include: wife, Sue Ellen Cook of Marion, Indiana; two sons, Robert L. Cook II of Akron, Ohio, and Jeff (Linda) Wolfe of Crown Pointe, Indiana; daughter, Teresa Wolfe of West Palm Beach, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Katy (Gene) Harris and Richard Sanders, both of W. Palm Beach, Florida, Allen Taylor and Aaron Taylor, both of Crown Pointe, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; and special military friend, Vern Jordan.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Cook and brother, William Cook.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at Marion National Cemetery Chapel, with Chaplain Rev. Darrell Smith officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
