Robert D. "Bob" Cora, age 59 of Marion passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in his home.
He was born March 24, 1959 in Marion, Indiana to the late Ewell D. Cora and Lucy M. (Rice) Woodard. His mother survives. He married Debbie Nall on May 1, 2010, and she also survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman. He was an owner and operator truck driver and had also worked as a new country music talent promoter.
Robert was a member of the First Church of God in Marion; a past commander of Amvets Post 5, Marion and was also a state officer for the Sons of Amvets. He organized the Amvets Riders for Post 5. He enjoyed playing pool in the APA League playing 9 Ball and also had played for the Pour House in Gas City. He loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his friends and family. He loved his babies to the moon and back and they called him “Pap Pap”. Robert was a loyal husband, brother and friend. He would always try to help in any way that he could.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Cora of Marion; his mother, Lucy M. (Eric) Woodard of Marion; two daughters, Amber and Alycia Patterson, both of Marion; step-son, Paul Oaks of Wabash; a brother, Jeffrey Riddle of Marion; sisters, Barbara (Skip) Wilson of Marion, Joann Cora of South Bend and Deanna Porter of Kokomo; brother-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Nall, Jr. of Henrietta, Texas; sister-in-law, Diana Nall of Marion; 3 grandchildren, Jayden Patterson, Londyn Patterson and Liam Abbott; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, too many to name.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mae Rice; his first wife, Sandy (Price) Cora; a step-son, Gary Walters; and a brother, Ewell Cora, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his niece and nephew, Michelle and Michael and also Ashley from Family Life Care Hospice.
Friends and family may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the First Church of God, 450 West 50th Street, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Jonathan Secrest officiating.
Burial will take place in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana immediately following funeral services.
