Robert Wayne Ledford

ROBERT WAYNE LEDFORD, age 66, passed away at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in Marion.
Wayne was born on July 29, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Robert Ledford and Elta (Dalton) Ledford. He married Carmen Petti in 1991. She survives.
Wayne was an Army veteran, serving with the European Theatre during the Vietnam War. He worked at SCM for 30 years in the cutter and shipping department until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of the American Legion Byron Thornburg Post #10, Marion. Wayne was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Wayne was a patriotic, gentle man who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include, his mother, Elta Ledford of LaFontaine, Indiana; his wife, Carmen Ledford of Marion, Indiana; five sons, Larry Petty of Lagro, Indiana, Doug Bennett of Wabash, Indiana, Greg Bennett (Paula) of Texas, Mark Bennett of Gas City, Indiana, and Mike Bennett of Marion, Indiana; three daughters, Cathy Bennett of Marion, Indiana, Karen DeLaporte (John) of Van Buren, Indiana, and Carol Chandler (Joe) of Marion, Indiana; several grandchildren & several great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Theresa Petty.

Graveside Services and Burial with full military rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 in the Chapel at Marion National Cemetery with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
