Robert Lee “Bob” Lester, age 66 of LaFontaine passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in his home.
Bob was born on May 30, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Charles J. “CJ” and Winifred “Honey” (Huffman) Lester.
Bob was recently retired. His greatest joy in life was time spent with his four precious grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and nature lover. He loved arrowhead hunting, fishing, and game hunting. He was a passionate mentor and advocate of nature and the outdoors. Whether it was a listening ear or offering advice, Bob was always there. Bob was quite the prankster and was known for his ornery smile. He took great joy in making others laugh.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Julie) Lester of Albany, Indiana, and Kelly (Justin) Riddle of Marion; four grandchildren, Luke Lester, Landon Lester, Jude Riddle and Kali Riddle; his former wife, Laura (Steven) Bates of Marion; his beloved sister, Sara Neeley of Gainesville, Georgia; brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Teresa) Lester, Jr. of Marion, Dick Lester of Charlotte, N. Carolina, and Bill (Tracy) Lester of Marion; many nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Arbogast.
