ROBERT "BOB" PRAHL, 62, died in his home Sunday morning after a year long battle with cancer.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Clara Prahl. He graduated from Mifflin High School in 1966, and attended The Ohio State University. He married Jane (Nicolai) Prahl on September 13, 1975 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Bob was employed by the KMart Corporation for 25 years, managing stores in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. He recently retired from Dawson Enterprises. He was an active member of the Marion Elks, serving on the Board of Trustees. He was an avid golfer and for many years served as co-chairman of the Marion Elks Golf Cancer Tournament. A devoted fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, he loved watching their games with friends and family.
Bob is survived by Jane, his wife of 34 years, and his son, John. He will be greatly missed by his wide family of close friends who affectionately knew him as "Big Bob".
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 with a Gathering of Friends and Family from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Elks Rites will follow at 6:00 p.m.
