Robert D. "Bob" Thorne

ROBERT "BOB" D. THORNE, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008, peacefully at home while surrounded by family.
He retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics, formerly RCA in Marion after 43 years of service. He had a great love for his family, the arts, cooking and traveling. He would spend many hours painting with oils while listening to classical music. He completed many canvases, some of which he sold and others he gave away. He was known for his chocolate and peanut butter fudge which he made in abundance around the holidays and shared with many.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Joyce Ann Morehead Thorne. Surviving children are: Cynthia (Samuel) Columbus, of Marion, Indiana; James D. (Judy) Thorne, of Chesterton, Indiana; Kimberly (Shane) Rolph, of North Manchester, Indiana and Tracie (William ) Woolsey, of Fishers, Indiana; Grandchildren, Jadee (Michael) Baker, of North Manchester, Indiana; Amy (Andrew) Kerschner, of Rowlett, Texas, Jason (Gretchen) Thorne, of Noblesville, Indiana and Douglas & Scott Thorne, of Chesterton, Indiana; Great-Grandchildren, Kaelin Kerschner and Madison & Ava Baker; Sister, Carol (Bennie) Yohe, of Hilltop Lake, Texas, Brother, Gary (Linda) Thorne, of Indiana; many nieces and nephews and his best buddy, JoJo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Thorne and Lorene Maddox Thorne Bousman, a sister, Carolyn Thorne and his parents-in-law, Harley and Lillian Morehead.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Nanci Rosinski officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14 and one hour prior to services on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
