Robert E. Worrell, age 96, of Marion passed away Wednesday, October 03, 2018 at the Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center, LaFontaine, Indiana.
Robert was born November 17, 1921 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late William and Lula (Kegley) Worrell. He married Mildred Sloman on February 17, 1945, and she survives. He was an Army veteran and owned and operated Worrell Star Flite. He was also co-owner of Kustom Kraft Countertops before his retirement in 1976 at the age of 55.
Robert enjoyed archery and was a member of the National Archery Association in Indiana and Florida. He also built houses in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mildred Worrell of Marion; two sons, W. Robert Worrell (Judy) of Hopkins, Minnesota and John Worrell (Cindy) of Weirsdale, Florida; two daughters, Terry Rohall (Gert) of LaFontaine and Lisa Mingus (Bart) of Angola, Indiana; grandchildren, Kedron Ripley (Dana), Kasey Hatzung (Dan), Kai Worrell (Sarah), Kit Sheppard (Adam), Katie Worrell, Shane Farr (Denise) and Lindsay Gorman (Mike); step-granddaughter, Ashlie Sloan (Allen); and 14 great-grandchildren.
Robert was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Gipson; a brother, William C. Worrell and grandson, David Farr.
Burial will take place in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. There will be no funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
