ROGER N. WICKHAM, age 80, of Marion passed away at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at home.

He was born on June 28, 1929, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Harreld) Wickham. He married Patricia Craft. She survives. He was an electrician at Moorehead Electric for 36 years until his retirement in 1992.

He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the McCulloch Lodge #737 F&AM; the Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Wayne; IBEW #873 and a former member of the Marion Elks Country Club. He also volunteered as a driver for "Meals On Wheels" with the help of his grandsons; and was a crossing guard at Riverview School. He was a devoted Marion Giants fan and had held season tickets since 1952. He also played on the 1947 State Finals Basketball Team. He was a Christian and loved to watch his grandchildren play sports. He was also part of the Burger King gang and the breakfast group at McDonalds.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Wickham of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Nancy Wiegand (Richard) of Noblesville, Indiana and Lisa Shockey (Kevin) of Marion, Indiana; sister, Mary Jo Wickham of Converse, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, Jordan & Kramer.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Wickham; a brother, Oscar Wickham, Jr.; and two sisters, Glendoris Blanton & Betty Payne.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 20 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:30 p.m.
