Ronald P. Dasch

RONALD P. DASCH, age 72, passed on at 8:59 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 23, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late John and Anne (Kalinowski) Dasch. He married Melissa Bish on October 16, 1984. She survives.
He worked at General Motors for 38 1/2 years. In his General Motors career, Ron completed his Diemaker Apprenticeship at the Hamilton, Ohio plant transferring to the Marion plant as a Tryout Supervisor before becoming S.M.E. Die Contact Engineer based at the Marion plant. In retirement, Ron devoted his time to his Arabian Showhorses and what he loved most was caring for his horse farm. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include wife, Melissa Dasch of Marion, Indiana; son, Richard Dasch (Veronica) of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Stephanie Boosey (Johnny), Jennifer Sweazey (Robert), and Gretchen McCoy (Gary), all of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Joe Boosey (Melanie), Michael Boosey, Jimmy Boosey, and Christian & Jacob McCoy; one great-grandson, Alex Boosey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alison & George Comas of St. Petersburg, Florida and Sarah & James Logue of Ocala, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dasch and a daughter, Diane Dasch.
Memorial Mass Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Father Richard Weisenberger officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests that dontations be made in his memory to one of Ron's favorite local charities: Grant County Rescue Mission, The Second Harvest of Indiana or the Catholic Children's Charity, Covenant House.
