Ronald Lee Hill, age 49, of Marion, passed away at 10:23 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the American Woodmark Plant in Gas City, Indiana.
Ronald was born December 4, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Abb Hill, Jr. and Oreda (Phillips) Murphy. His mother survives.
Ronald was a graduate of Heavy Equipment School in 2005. He worked at Active Products for several years, and then at Thompson Consumer Electronics in Marion until the plant closed. He then went to work at American Woodmark in Gas City.
Ronald was a lifetime resident of Grant County. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, camping, car racing, and demolition derbys. Ronald most loved spending time with his granddaughter and family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include: son, Dustin Hill of Marion; daughter, Amanda Hill of Marion; mother, Oreda Murphy of Marion; granddaughter, Kaylee Beck of Marion; two brothers, Anthony Murphy (Carol) of Marion, and Anthony Ridenbaugh of Biloxi, Mississippi; three sisters, Linda Beeman (Keith) of Jonesboro, Brenda Dilley (Ronald) of Marion, and Sharon Ybarra (Anthony) of Marion; and girlfriend, Christie Harris of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Abb Hill, Jr.; uncles, John Hill, Arnold Hill, Gilbert Hill, Clyde Hill, Loyd Phillips, Ray Phillips and Tom Roberts; aunts, Laura Roberts, Vivian Phillips, and Sonya Wallace; niece, Lisa Applegate; and grandparents, Abb and Elsie Hill and Pearlie and Marvin Phillips.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
