ROSARIO C. YAPTINCHAY, age 90, of Marion, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at home.
ROSARIO was born on October 25, 1917, in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, the daughter of the late Teofilo Corpus and Rosita (Belmonte) Corpus. She married Ernesto Yaptinchay on December 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1992.
She was a physician at the VA Medical Center for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and volunteered as a greeter.
Survivors include Sons, Sid Yaptinchay (Rosario) and Francis Yaptinchay (Evelyn) both of Port Orchard, Washington; Daughters, Erlinda Corcoro (Ernesto) of Port Orchard, Washington, Zita Yeakle of Seattle, Washington, and Jowee Foutz of San Diego, California, Brother, Alex, Sisters, Mila and Lily, 11 grandchildren, Eric, Ernelyn, Ernie, Tony, Jamie, Frankie, Vincent, Brian, Jessie, David & Andy, and Great-Granddaughter, Zoey.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with the Father Richard Weisenberger officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana at a later date.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, January 11 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A Vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:00 p.m.
