Ruby (Cheek) Kellam, age 85, of Marion, passed away at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Colonial Oaks Health & Rehab Center in Marion.
Ruby was born May 27, 1930 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late James and Katie (Miracle) Cheek.
Ruby was known for creating a unique doll design and also loved to crochet. She enjoyed bowling and was a former President of a Wednesday night bowling league. She was a member of the Associates of Indiana Business College. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters, Connie (Brent) Gorrell of Woodburn, Indiana, Kathy (Joe) Vandermark of Greenwood, Indiana, Cindy (Jim) Bean of Logansport, Indiana and Toni Kellam of Marion, Indiana; three sisters, Zella Jackson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bernice Wilder of Miracle, Kentucky and Delores Pence of Marion, Indiana; brother, Tony (Debby) Cheek of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Coy and Harold Cheek; grandchildren, Rob and Aaron Gaunt; step-grandchildren, Mike and Nick Gorrell; and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Whited.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Ruth Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the Memorial Service.
