Sandra Kay "Sandy" Nichols, age 78, of Alliance Ohio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She passed from this life the same way she lived it, with dignity and grace.
Sandra was born November 5, 1935, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late James and Kathryn (Hillyer) Moorehead, and step-mother, Jessie Moorehead. On March 17, 1997, she married William "Bill" Nichols, the love of her life. Their marriage was one of love, devotion, nurturing and respect. Everyone that knew them was in awe of the way Bill took such good care of her.
Sandy lived in the Marion area for 35 years and was the Secretary of the Young Democrats, and helped with the Kennedy election in the 1960's. She also helped run the Marion License Branch. After furthering her education, she became a Respiratory Therapist and a Pharmacy Tech at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, Ohio for 30 years until her retirement.
During her life, Sandy was special to everyone that knew her. She was a genuine lady with a quick wit, a listening ear, and always greeted you with a smile. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Sandy was a prolific writer and always kept her family well connected and informed. She kept up with the times and later communicated via texting. She was an avid reader, a lifetime learner, and a good listener. She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, sunny days and beautiful flowers.
