Shirlee Joyce Morrison, 63, of Marion, Indiana was called home to rest after a thirty-year battle with MS. She peacefully passed in her home on the evening of Thursday, February 24, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 14, 1958 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana to Ralph Roland and Jessie Armelia (Reeves) Pratt. Shirlee was the third of four daughters to bless the Pratt household along with Barbara, Susan, and Nancy. After her mother unexpectedly passed in 1966, Shirlee was gifted another mother when Ralph married Phyllis Jean in 1969. Along with Phyllis came four bonus siblings Randy, Darlene, Rick, and Debbie.
Shirlee graduated from Penn High School in 1976 and worked her way to attend Purdue University and Ozark Bible College. Through one of her many occupations, she befriended Carol Morrison. It was at her wedding that Shirlee met the love of her life, Steve Morrison. Shirlee and Steve married in 1986 and celebrated 36 years of loving marriage. In part to Shirlee’s intellectual prowess and attention to detail, they successfully owned and operated a moving company for 32 years. This took them on adventures all across the country until retirement in 2017.
They had three beautiful, charming, awesome, really cool, charismatic, and humble children; Beau, Faith, and Sara. Shirlee saw all three of her children graduate from Purdue University. Her main hope was for her children to become strong, independent adults with high morals. She enjoyed all of the jokes and games shared at family holidays, the home was always warm and cheerful.
Shirlee loved nature in all its forms. She enjoyed hiking and biking in her youth, was a talented skier and loved swimming. If any dog or cat came to the house in search of food, the Morrison household had a new pet! She followed in her father’s footsteps and was an avid bird watcher.
Shirlee attended Marion Church of Christ and volunteered her time at the Children’s Church. She was a model Christian who cared deeply for others and loved with all her heart. Even with all physical burdens this world could throw at her she continued to see the best of the world with God at her side. Her high morals and deep religious beliefs were respected and admired by all she met.
Waiting in Heaven is her father Ralph Pratt, mother Jessie Pratt, father-in-law Marvin Morrison, mother-in-law Ruth Morrison, brother-in-law Michael Morrison, sister-in-law Carol Port, dogs Lucy and Lucky, cats Moss, Tiger, Tobie, Tuffy, Shadow, and Gallic, and grand-cat Hope.
Shirlee leaves behind her loving husband, Steven Edward Morrison; son, Beau Alexander Morrison; daughters, Faith Ruth Ann Morrison and Sara Starr Morrison (Daniel C. Nolan); sisters, Barbara G.
