Shirley Sue (Lovelady) Cox, age 71, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor, Marion, Indiana.
Shirley was born on April 20, 1942, in Town Creek, Alabama, the daughter of the late Olen Lovelady and Louise (Terry) Hooper. She married Floyd Cox on March 16, 1956 in Tulepo, Mississippi and was a homemaker.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Sammy) Tarlton, Marion; son, Gary Cox, Marion; brothers, Old Man Junior (Debbie) Lovelady and Wayne (Wanda) Lovelady, both of Marion, and Bill (Cathy) Lovelady, Alabama; sister, Rhunae Etheredge, Alabama; grandchildren, Sammy Tarlton Jr., Christopher (Adrianne) Tarlton, Skysea (Jeremy) Sommer and Ameka (Rodney) Jones; great grandchildren, Sammy Tarlton III, Devyn Tarlton, Christopher Colin Tarlton, Ellica Sommer, Gavin Sommer, Kalynn Cox, and Katyiah Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Cox; mother, Louise Hooper; father, Olen Lovelady, Sr.; son, Rodger Cox; and her brother, Charles "Mac" Lovelady.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Marcus Combs officiating.
Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
