Stephen Matthew "Matt" Queen

April 13, 1945 — January 29, 2009

Our beloved husband, father, and papaw, Steve, passed away at I.U. Medical Center surrounded by his loving family, into the arms of Jesus.

He was born in Washington, Indiana to Daniel Albert Queen Sr., deceased and Mary Elizabeth Schlotter Queen who survives. He has 7 surviving siblings, Daniel A. Queen Jr. (Marge) of Rhode Island; Michael C. Queen (Sandy) of Washington, Indiana; Jim Queen (Kathy) of Washington, Indiana; John Queen (Shirley) of Ohio; Anita Tomey (Richard) of Washington, Indiana; Terry Queen (Tammy) of Owensville, Indiana; and step-sister, Sharon of Indiana.

He and Clair Anne Osmon Queen, were married on March 12, 1966. She survives. They had three daughters, Stephanie Anne Pace (Mike) of Marion, Indiana; Angela Lynn Fulton (Kevin) of Michigan; and Heather Diane Cheslik (Fred) of Fairmount, Indiana. They also have 7 grandchildren, Joshua, Beth, Emily, Jenny, Meredith, Walter & Lillian.

Steve loved playing cards, both with humans and his computer. He liked watching movies, football, and wrestling. He coached his daughter's softball teams when they played for the PAL Club. His family moved to Marion with him, when he went to work for RCA in 1975, where he worked for 28 years, and made many life long friends. He was also a Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, February 2 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A mass will then be held in Washington, Indiana at Our Lady Of Hope, on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. An open casket viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. before the mass. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Washington, Indiana. Lee Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements in Washington, Indiana.
