STEVE PERDUE, 69, of Marion, passed from this life, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Steve was born February 9, 1941, in Van Buren, Indiana, the son of the late Yale and Martha Perdue. Upon graduation from Van Buren High School, he attended Purdue University and became an eternal Boilermaker fan. He served in various management positions with Woolworths for 28 years and then sold insurance until his retirement.
Steve will be remembered for his keen intellect, quick wit, and his trivia knowledge on most any subject. He could quote sports stats from all eras, and when challenged was usually proved correct. He loved all sports, but especially baseball. His Cubs disappointed him constantly, but then again... what's new?
Survivors include: his companion of 28 years, Charlotte Buckner of Marion, two daughters, Teri Sharpe (Keith) of Chesterton, Indiana, and Michelle Mason (Tim) of Buford, Georgia; two sisters, Sherry Eberst (Charles) of Houston, Texas, Trudy Plummer (Larry) of Marion; Charlotte's daughters; Jackie Reed (Tom) of Washington, D.C., Susan Lee (Mark) of Livermore, California, and Kathie Carmichael (Danny) of Marion, a host of friends and his beloved dog Maggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Martin Huffman.
In honor of Steve's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services.
