T. Jeanette Steiner

T. JEANETTE STEINER, age 66, of Wabash, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at home.

Jeanette was born on May 4, 1943, in San Diego, California, the daughter of the late Raymond M. Kroger and Carolyn A. (Wissler) Kroger. On June 17, 1979, she married James "Jim" Steiner who preceded her in death on August 6, 2004.

She was a graduate of Mount St. Mary's College, Summa Cum Laude. She received her Masters in Classical Latin & Greek at USC where she also taught while earning her degree. She was a book editor for Walt Disney Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1999. Jeanette was a member of the Sinai Temple, the Mississinewa Battlefield Society, the Red Hats Society, the Conversation Club, and a member of MPO Friends. Jeanette loved animals, nature and reading. She had an amazing singing voice and was once offered a recording contract. She also rode and taught Dressage.

Survivors include: mother, Carolyn A. Kroger of Wabash, Indiana; step-sons, Gary M. Steiner (Dee) of Santa Clarita, California; Russell B. Steiner (Rosalyn) of Bnei Barak, Israel; and John D. Steiner (Bonnie) of Burbank, California; sister, Gretchen Svidal (Jay) of Orange, California; brother-in-law, Stanley A. Steiner (Jackie) of Marion, Indiana, and nephews, Colin & Erik Svidal.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Lou Dodyk officiating.

Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
