Terry Kent Taylor

June 13, 1942 — November 29, 2018

Terry Kent Taylor, age 76, of Marion passed away on November 29 at Marion General Hospital. He was the son of the late Harald “Dutch” Taylor and Olive (Miller) Taylor. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nerissa and Erik Draeger, and his former wife, Sue Taylor.

Terry was born in Connorsville, Indiana, but moved to Lakeland, Florida at a very young age. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown College in Kentucky and a Masters of Social Work degree from Michigan State University. He spent his career in service to improving the lives of others, working for a series of Christian organizations in Michigan and Indiana. He retired from White’s Residential & Family Services in Wabash in 2007.

Terry loved nature and was a rock hound, amateur photographer, and woodworker. He spent many hours wandering the beaches of Michigan and the stream beds of Indiana looking for fossils and geodes. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and the local “Sawdust Gang.”

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the LaFontaine Christian Church, with fellowship following the service.

Arrangements entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Honeywell Summer Plaza Music Series, a concert series he attended every year, at Honeywell Foundation, 275 W.
