Thomas A. Grogg, age 74, of Marion, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Thomas was born on January 30, 1939, in Griffith, Indiana, the son of the late Edgar and Florence Grogg. He married Sandra L. "Sandy" Malosh on September 1, 1961, and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2009.
Thomas graduated from Griffith High School in 1957. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Wabash College in 1961 and his Master's degree at Indiana University Law School in Indianapolis graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then went into partnership with Charles Riley and was an attorney at Riley & Grogg from 1975 to 1994, until his retirement.
He was a member of Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, and was Past Master and member of McCulloch Lodge No. 737 F&AM. Thomas loved spending time with his granddaughters.
Survivors include three daughters, Beth (Curt) Huffman of Madison, Wisconsin, Kate (Tom) Fortney of Noblesville, Indiana, and Lucy (Scott) Williams of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, John (Kelli) Grogg of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, Ed "Doc" (Letty) Grogg, Vince (Millie) Grogg and Lee (Shirley) Grogg; and four grandchildren, Emily, Elaina, Sarah and Rachel.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Charles Ternet officiating.
Cremation will follow funeral services.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Food Pantry Fund of Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, 1921 W. Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana 46952.
