Treva Lorenz Stanley, age 85, of Sweetser, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 in Brookdale Marion Assisted Living.
Treva was born January 14, 1931 in Lee County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Roy and Ora Lillian (Briscoe) Hall. She married Donald Lorenz in June 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She then married Donald Stanley in May 1979, who also preceded her in death in February 2012.
Treva was a member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church. She had a gentle and caring soul. As the matriarch of her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, treating them to shopping trips and baking them cookies. She also enjoyed traveling the world and would collect Precious Moments and bells from the different places she visited.
She is survived by a son, Gary (Pamela) Lorenz of Lake Mary, Florida; a daughter, Debbie (Eugene) Musall of Sweetser, Indiana; a stepson, Mike Stanley of Niles, Michigan; a stepdaughter, Linda (Fred Busse) Stanley of Niles, Michigan; a sister, Betty Marburger McFarling of Carmel, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy) McCay, Greg (Karen) Grogan, Brent (Angee) Grogan, Sara Lorenz, Arie Lorenz, Anne (Kevin) Manees, and Julie (Chris) Payne; and ten great-grandchildren. Her brother, Kenneth Hall of Peru, Indiana, preceded Treva in death.
A casual gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Funeral Services will take place at the same location on the following day, Friday, January 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rob Barton officiating.
It is requested that any memorials be made out to Brookdale Marion, 2452 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana and/or Heart to Heart Hospice, 1385 North Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana.
