V. DORIS McADAMS, age 93, of Marion, died at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Wesleyan Heights, Marion.
She was born on June 30, 1915, in Salem, Oregon, the daughter of the late Irvin W. and Louise (Heavilin) McAdams.
She retired from Marion Community Schools in 1976 after 40 years of teaching. She was a member of the Indiana State Retired Teacher's Association and South Marion Friends Church.
Survivors include nieces & nephews, Cheryl Dyar (Mike) of Bloomfield, Indiana; Karyl Wolf (Ron) of Hartford City, Indiana; Jim McAdams (Debra) of Greentown, Indiana; Mary Gross (Bill) of Oostburg, Wisconsin and John McAdams (Donelle) of Marion, Indiana; 7 great nieces; 3 great nephews; 1 great-great niece and 2 great-great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Irvin & Delos H. McAdams.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Forsythe officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
