Virginia "Judy" Martel Blackburn, age 89, of Marion, passed away at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Sweetser, Indiana.
Judy was born June 23, 1923, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Oscar and Delphine (Cottrell) Yeager.
She worked in production at RCA and had also worked at Duncan Donuts and Hank's Tavern until her retirement.
She was a member of the American Legion for many years and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include: two daughters, Judith Martel (Brian) Runyon and her children, Jeff Sims, Bethann Matteson, Leslie Trudell and Stephanie Giles; Rebecca "Becky" Nelson and her children, Mark Nelson, Susan Artherhults, and Sally Fear; a son, John (Marguerite) Myers and his children, Tom Myers and David Myers; brother, Edward (Rita) Yeager; and many great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three husbands, William Myers, Warren Shafer, and James "Jim" Blackburn; son-in-law, Burr Nelson; brothers, Junior, Alfred and David Yeager; sisters, Louise and Zandra, and grandchildren, Dawn Marie Myers & Steven Nelson.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon Saturday, April 6, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweetser, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 5 and from 11:00 a.m. until services at Noon on Saturday, April 6 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
