William P. "Bill" Sailor, age 86, of Hartford City, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011, at the University Nursing Center, Upland, Indiana.
William was born on September 26, 1925, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the son of the late William Arthur and Hannah (Carter) Sailor. He married Frances Baugh in May 1965, and she survives.
He was a Corporal in the Marines serving during WWII, and was an Iwo Jima Battle survivor.
William worked 25 years in construction, and then did upholstery and security work until his retirement in 2003.
He was a member of the DAV; the American Legion; and the Blackford County Masonic Lodge No. 106.
Survivors include: wife, Frances Sailor of Hartford City, Indiana; two sons, William Michael Sailor of Georgia, and Daniel Jay Sailor of Hartford City, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Fran Bullock and Pastor Thomas Rittichier officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be held in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana following funeral services.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 p.m.
