William E. Watson, age 65, of Marion, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 4, 2017 in Marion General Hospital, Marion.
William was born in Hammond, Indiana on October 31, 1951. He attended grade school in his home town of Griffith, Indiana. Following the 4th grade, he moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana for special education and housing. From there he moved to Marion where he lived in group homes until his passing.
His interests included oldies music as well as rock and country. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and loved to bowl. He won a number of ribbons and trophies including participation in the Special Olympics.
William is survived by a sister, Karen (Watson) Hargis of Lincoln, Illinois; a brother, Kenneth (Martha) Watson of Chatham, Illinois; and a half-brother, Dave (Betty) Beckner of Ballwin, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four step-sisters, Lorene Beckner, Annabelle (Watson) Reynolds, Alice (Beckner) Osborne and Shirley (Watson) Volland; and one nephew, Brian Liechty.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
