Wilma L. Brookshire

March 27, 1931 — December 17, 2021

Wilma L. Brookshire, age 90 of Marion passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion.

Wilma was born on March 27, 1931 in Summitville, Indiana the daughter of the late Harry "Maxwell" and Beulah (Maggart) Smith.  She was a graduate of Fairmount High School Class of 1949.  Wilma married Carl Brookshire on July 3, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2003.

Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion and a proud member of the James Dean Fan Club.  She was also a past member of the Order of Eastern Star Mississinewa Chapter.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Lynn (Kent) Wolfcale of Kewaunee, Wisconsin; sister, Pam Goe of Muncie; brother, Jack (Celeste) Smith of Anderson; sisters-in-law, Janice Smith and Evelyn Brookshire, both of Marion; 2 grandchildren, Melinda Gordon & Jenifer Zabel, both of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Brookshire; a sister, LoraNell Spence and her husband, Kenny; and a brother, Max Smith.

Cremation will take place as per Wilma’s wishes.  Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
