Wilma I. Gilliland passed away August 14, 2012, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Wilma the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Helen E. (Ford) Sexton was born in Marion, Indiana on September 7, 1922.

Wilma graduated from Marion High School in 1940, and married Paul D. Gilliland, Jr. in 1941. She worked for the Marion Community Administration Office for 19 years, retiring in 1996.

Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church; a past member of Order of Eastern Star in Tecumseh, Michigan, Chapter 51; American Legion Auxiliary; American Business Women's Association, Aureca Amica Chapter being honored as Woman of the Year in 1988; and M.G.S. Secretarian Association.

Wilma is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Fred) Whittaker, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 7 grandchildren: Rita, Gina, Dianna, Jonathon, Heather, Adam, and Amanda; 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Anas, a son Paul D. Gilliland III, and her sisters Thelma M. Heller and Mary Hasty Jacob.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012, one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
